Emergency Operations Center


The Delaware County Emergency Operations Center is a state of the art facility that serves as the command center during any emergency in our community, as well as a training area that is available to any governmental office.  At the heart of the EOC is a sophisticated audio-visual system capable of displaying status boards from our WebEOC software, news coverage, and interactive maps from the GIS (computer mapping) system onto any of 4 large projection display screens, 2 LCD televisions, or a 3M smartboard.

Inside the EOC

Control Center
- Main station has quad LCD display, of which any display can be sent seperately to any of the 7 video screens.
- Secondary station has a dual monitor display controls the 3m Smartboard, and can also be sent to any of the 7 video displays.
- A/V control center
      -  Video swithcing for the 7 displays
       - Audio  controls for computers/ TV/Dispatch/Amateur Radio
       -VCR/DVD Record & Play back

Work Area
- modular tables that cab configured to meet any situation
- drop down phone lines that can be connected during an emergency to meet increased call demand, suitable for back up 911 systems.

Video Displays
- 4 large projection screens
- 2 secondary LCD TV displays

- 3M Smartboard (above)
      - allows control of computer from the smartboard with electronic stylus.
      -  allows user to draw,  highlight, and add text overlays on screen, that can be printed or saved electronically.

WebEOC Emergency Management Software
-  Web-based emergency incident management tool.
-  Multi-user, board-based system.
-  Allows simultaneous viewing of situation from anywhere.
-  Reduces communications problems,  enhances inter-departmental communications during an emergency.
-  Regional incident management capabilities.
-  Integration with private entities, utilities.
-  Second agency in Indiana behind Marion County/Indianapolis for implementation of this type of system.
